During the summer months we operate out of the small town of Craig in beautiful
Southeast Alaska. You'll find information below on our operation,
or feel free to email or call to book your trip today The waters surrounding Prince of Wales Island and the
small town of Craig, Alaska are some of the richest in all of the North Pacific. All
five species of salmon can be found here, as well as astounding numbers of halibut.
Craig's location offers anglers the ability to choose between the open
waters of the rugged North Pacific or the calm, protected waters provided by a labyrinth of
islands that seperate Craig from the wide open ocean.
What sets Craig apart from other fishing locales in Alaska is it's proximity
to the feeding grounds
of salmon gorging on baitfish in preparation for their journey home. We fish for these feeding
salmon by Drift Mooching, meaning the angler gets the "hands on" thrill of
feeling the take and setting the hook on these ocean bright salmon, as well as the excitement
of fighting one of these spectacular fish to the finish. Once an angler experiences this
thrill we're quite certain they'll have difficulty fishing for salmon any other way!
In addition to the plentiful numbers of salmon found here, our waters are
also teaming with halibut. 40 to 60 pound halibut are the norm here, though barn

breaking the 200 pound mark also swim in these waters and can climb on at any time.
Our customers enjoy the use of the finest tackle money can buy, including
Lamiglas mooching rods equipped with state of the art Shimano line-counter reels
and Shakespeare offshore halibut rods matched with Penn reels. When it comes to
tackle and gear we spare no expense, as we believe that quality gear goes a long ways to ensure
that your fishing trip to Southeast Alaska is a memorable one.
Once we arrive back at the dock your days catch will be quickly filleted and
processed to ensure that the fish you bring home will be of the utmost quality.
Guests of Pacific Northwest Sportfishing stay at Ruth Anns Hotel in downtown
Craig. The hotel is located directly across the street from our moorage in the harbor, as well
as from Ruth Anns Restaurant. The restaurant has been a local attraction for over 20 years and
serves fresh local seafood, steaks, burgers, and the best steak sandwich in Southeast Alaska.
For a taste of local color Ruth Ann's lounge, located in the restaurant, is a happening place
just about any night of the week.
